This evening, The Dumping Ground S08E23, ‘Far From the Tree’, aired. This was a very special episode for me, as it was the episode I scripted edited during my 2019 stint as the Trainee Script Editor. Due to COVID-19, the initial airdate was delayed, so it’s been a year-and-a-half wait to see the episode for the first time.
It was great to see the script, written by the extremely talented, utterly lovely Christine Robertson, being brought to life by the show’s talented cast. Having spent months following the development of the script from an initial outline to production draft, it was a fantastic experience watching lots of time and hard work pay off. As my first professional script editing credit, this was a huge moment for me, and hopefully the first of many!
